Millbay Enabling Works
Millbay, Plymouth £1,352,000
more
Description:

Ryearch Ltd undertook enabling works on this difficult site in Plymouth on behalf of English Partnerships supervised by Scott Wilson Consultants so that the site would eventually contain over 100 apartments, shops and offices.

The works involved the excavation and renewal of some 11000 m3 of material including over 3000m3 of hard limestone rock. A retaining wall was also constructed consisting of steel columns concreted in sockets drilled into the limestone and insitu concrete panels placed between the columns.
This, together with associated sewer and service diversions, meant that the regeneration of the Millbay area by English Partnerships could commence.
